SPIKA
It is a polyimide microtube without background during X-ray exposure.
SPIKA is a microtube for X-ray diffraction measurements made from a special polyimide resin. By controlling the microfibril structure of the polyimide polymer, the background (BKG) during X-ray irradiation is significantly reduced. ◇ Applications: Powder X-ray diffraction, single crystal X-ray diffraction, neutron diffraction ◇ Heat resistance temperature: 300°C ◇ Chemical stability: Insoluble to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents ◇ Grades: Three types: low BKG type ST, SP, and BKG-free LB ◇ Tube inner diameters: 0.3mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm, 7.0mm ◇ Tube lengths: Standard length is 4.0mm, can be manufactured up to a maximum of 80mm ◇ Shape: For diameters other than 0.3mm, options for with/without funnel are available ◇ Tube sealing: Standard products are sealed on one side ◇ Advantages: ・The resin colors are light yellow for ST, transparent for SP, and light brown for LB, making it easy to observe samples inside the tube ・Compared to commercially available thermosetting polyimide resins, the X-ray BKG is significantly reduced ・Safe experiments can be conducted without the risk of breakage like glass materials
